ABOUT US

CONSTANTINE BAY SURF SCHOOL

Since 2006

I started Constantine bay surf school in 2006. Having spent my late teens and 20’s surfing around the world, I wanted a way to be able to live at home in the Cornish summer but still surf & travel. And let’s face it, what better way to spend the day than surfing and working in the best office in the world.

My experience from working on the surfing world tour and with surf schools in Australia, makes our surf school in this little corner of North Cornwall unique.

I have surfed and travelled throughout Europe – Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Portugal and Morocco; as well as California, Mexico, Indonesia, Tahiti, Australia and Hawaii.

Now years later living where I grew up with my own family, the beach is still the best office, I have the funnest job, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

About our Lessons

We are all about having ‘Fun in the surf’. The first part of the lesson is based on the beach, running you through everything you need to know to have the confidence to safely have fun. we then get in the sea to have a full fun surf session.

We don’t run the longest surf lessons and we don’t spend a long time on the beach doing stretches, but we do work as hard as possible to get the best, funnest waves we can find for you. Some times due to big tides our lessons are a little shorter but we would rather a super fun surf than a long surf. Time and tide wait for no one.

The perfect surf school. Cheyne is an organised but chilled guy who makes starting surfing an easy pleasure for learners of all ages (our group ranged from 12 to 42). The instructors were there to actively help us catch waves, or just point out incoming good ones. Everything's provided and the prices are very reasonable – they even take card or Apple payments at their trailer in the layby, which is pretty slick. Highly recommended.

4 of us with really variable experience all joined for a beginners session. Cheyne was epic, coached us all to improve, had all the great kit and looking forward to using all the skills for the rest of the week!

I have had two lessons with Cheyne, one private and one with my son and nephew (both under 10), and really enjoyed both. Cheyne obviously had a huge amount of surfing knowledge and experience; and makes the session fun. We were all standing by the end of the lesson. Would highly recommend.

We had two lessons and we would have gone again if time had allowed. Really good teachers, and fun friendly guys to hang out with. Surfing made our holiday special!
